02:34 <tekHneEk> I'm trying to figure out the best approach for modeling documents to do radius search with a relevance comparison against a key with a list of items. Say I have 2 documents 1 with the key 'x' and values 'a', 'b' and 'c' and I have another document with the key x with values 'b' how can I order by distance on each document and provide most relevant match by key, to least relevant match?

09:49 <waits_> hello
09:50 <Derick> hi?
09:54 <waits_> I want to create a subset for each group of a property sorted by another property in a collection.
09:55 <waits_> Basically, I want the top 25% of the documents grouped by a property, saved in another collection. "Top" means sort desc by a property.
09:55 <waits_> Is there an easy way to do this besides: 1) calculate what 25% means in abs value, 2) get that number of documents 3) write them to a new collection
09:55 <waits_> for each group
09:58 <waits_> Does that make sense?

14:37 <ngmvit> is there any utility or feature by which i can see that the modifications happens if and only if a defined set of taks(updating different collection) happens successfully. Or i should i do it manually in my controller as required? Ex: if i have to make changes to 3 collection and the fields are dependent and my query fails during query of 2nd or 3rd collection

17:56 <markizano> thedoor: do you have a delayed node or MMS backups?
17:56 <markizano> or occassionally do mongodumps ?
17:59 thedoor joined
17:59 <thedoor> markizano, i have no mongodumps, the dumps that i have before has ben destroied
17:59 <artok> so basically you're saying that everything is gone
18:00 <markizano> thedoor: Do you have an account with https://mms.mongodb.org/ ?
18:00 <markizano> and backups enabled there ?
18:00 <markizano> if not, may want to look into that.
18:00 <markizano> for now, it sounds like everything is indeed gone, unfortunately :/
18:01 <markizano> If you happen to find yourself on a hardware device - you *MIGHT* be able to shut down the server and inspect the sectors and try to recover it with some arcane software that will be able to recover deleted files from hard drives. This is not possible with a VM though.

18:08 <thedoor> i hope they give it to me, even when i didn't have the backup service enabled on vps
18:08 <markizano> :/
18:08 <markizano> they might not have it then...
