15:34 <uau> AndrewR: someone still tries to use mencoder?

16:40 <AndrewR> uau, sometimes I play with it
16:50 <Compn> mencoder still alive!
16:50 <Compn> AndrewR : is dv video encoding multi threaded ?
16:51 <Compn> guess i'd have to check ffmpeg code...
16:54 <AndrewR> Compn, well, exactly multi-threaded encoding fails with mencoder, may be last year's mencoder was still able to encode it, I have few old versions .... original file probably encoded by camera, it can be decoded with multiple threads in mplayer via ffdv.
16:55 <Compn> it could be bug
16:55 <Compn> but also i wonder if ffmpeg does multithreaded dv encoding
16:57 <Compn> .capabilities = AV_CODEC_CAP_SLICE_THREADS | AV_CODEC_CAP_FRAME_THREADS | AV_CODEC_CAP_INTRA_ONLY,
16:57 <Compn> i guess so
16:59 <AndrewR> Compn, yes, I wanted to run this test exactly for seeing how well it performs (compared to old libdv encoder)
16:59 <AndrewR> Compn, r37871 crashes in similar manner

17:06 <Compn> is that with avi output ?
17:06 <Compn> without multi thread it works ?
17:06 <Compn> i'm trying to eliminate variables :)
17:07 <AndrewR> Compn, yes, it just avi (sorry for confusing file extension for output file, I also tried to play with -of lavf). With threads=1 it works
17:16 <Compn> k
17:16 <Compn> thanks
17:37 <Dan39> hi, im using mplayer slave mode to play some videos back to back with -fixed-vo. what is best container to use to prevent seek problems? mp4, avi, etc? it is h264 video, and aac audio

19:24 <Dan39> ok, so i am using loadlist to play 2 files in a row
19:27 <Dan39> problem i have is if the 1st file is an mp4 or mkv, watching the path and percent_pos it stops at the end of the 1st file
19:27 <Dan39> the path doesnt change to 2nd file in list, even though the 2nd file does start playing
19:28 <Dan39> and percent_pos counts up to 99 for first file then stays there
19:28 <Dan39> if i make the 1st file an avi, then it works... :|
