20:54 <durandal_1707> Compn: what codecs? people use it for stupid filters
20:58 <Compn> which filter?
21:00 <durandal_1707> ask them
21:37 <bencoh> durandal_1707: why so mean? :(
21:38 <durandal_1707> for smthing not developed anymore?
21:40 <bencoh> right, but still :)
21:40 <bencoh> oh and, you're actually right, it prolly won't stop being used until it can be fully replaced
21:41 <Compn> durandal_1707 : patch welcome to put "this program is dying, please use ffmpeg instead" in mencoder output :P
21:41 <Compn> ehe
21:42 <bencoh> :(
21:42 <durandal_1707> s/dying/deprecated
21:43 <bencoh> while this is actually not mencoder but mplayer, I recently used -dumpstream for a css-"protected" dvd iso (since ffmpeg didn't allow me to demux it)
21:44 <bencoh> I didn't think I'd need that in 2017 and found myself rebuilding dvdcss/dvdread/mplayer for that (hadn't fiddled with the dvd* stuff for years)
