Hey guys, i have a quick question about backing up a whole cluster and spinning up a new one with the old one's data (in another DC)
I've backed up the bitcask directory of the currently running cluster, and copied it to the bitcask directory of the new cluster. Do I just start a create a new cluster to have the data show up?
also, because of size issues, I've only managed to backup 4 out of 5 nodes, would that suffice?
if the new cluster has the partitions assigned to different node, that will be a _lot_ of handoff
you might want to copy the ring and follow http://docs.basho.com/riak/kv/2.2.1/using/cluster-operations/changing-cluster-info/#rename-multi-node-clusters to rename the cluster so the ownership matches
you may want to repair the partitions that you didn't copy: http://docs.basho.com/riak/kv/2.2.0/using/repair-recovery/repairs/#repairing-a-single-partition
i hadn't seen that part of the docs, thanks DaJoe!
hello. I have a question that I am sure you have heard many times before: if I modify a program distributed under the GPLv3 license and run my modified version on AWS, do I have to provide my modified source to amazon, but no one else? this is hypothetical. I do not plan to do so
